This is the second edition of the ECSS Statistical Bulletin. The first edition published in 1993 was very well received. ECSS has been very fortunate to secure the services of the Belgium-Luxembourg Steel Information Centre (CBLIA) in preparing this Bulletin, and in particular of Ing. C. Coucke who has collected and edited information from members of ECSS and many other national and European statistical sources. Thanks are due too to Jacques Van Neste, former Secretary General of ECSS, who has been much involved in the preparation of the Bulletin, a much needed reference of production and demand for constructional steelwork throughout Europe.
